QuranR (the App) is a scripture reading and listening experience for the Quran and Bible. The App is provided by Neural Automate (we, us, or our).

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is used, and what choices you have. By using QuranR, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Overview

QuranR is designed to work without user accounts. We do not ask you to sign in, and we do not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name or email address, from within the App.

Most data is stored locally on your device and under your control.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Information you store on your device

To provide core features, the App stores certain data locally on your device using technologies like local databases and shared preferences. This may include:

• Bookmarks, highlights, and notes you create for verses.
• Reading plans, progress (for example, which day you are on), and related settings.
• Display preferences such as font size, theme (light, dark, or system), and language.
• Audio preferences, such as default reciter, playback speed, and whether to auto-play the next surah/chapter.
• Notification settings (for example, whether reminders are enabled and what time they are scheduled).
• Last read verse or location so you can continue where you left off.

This information is stored only on your device unless you choose to manually share it (for example, by copying text or sharing a verse through another app).

2.2 Network requests for scripture and audio

When you use QuranR while online, the App may connect to remote services in order to:

• Fetch scripture text or search results.
• Stream or download audio recitations.

These requests typically include technical details such as your IP address, device type, and the specific resource you requested (for example, a surah number, verse range, or search keyword). This information is handled by the respective service providers in accordance with their own privacy policies.

2.3 Notifications

QuranR can schedule local notifications on your device (for example, a daily verse or reading plan reminder). Notification schedules and content are stored locally. We do not operate a remote push notification service for QuranR.

2.4 Diagnostic data

Your device and operating system (iOS, Android, etc.) may provide anonymized crash reports or diagnostic information through their own mechanisms. We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs in the App.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide core features of the App (reading, audio, bookmarks, plans).
• Remember your preferences and last reading position.
• Show and schedule local notifications that you have enabled, such as reading reminders or a verse of the day.
• Improve reliability and performance, for example by diagnosing crashes or unexpected errors.

4. Legal Bases (where applicable)

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process information:

• Performance of a contract – to provide the App to you.
• Legitimate interests – to maintain and improve the App in a way that respects your privacy.
• Consent – for features such as notifications, which you can enable or disable in Settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not:

• Sell your personal data.
• Share your bookmarks, notes, or reading history with advertisers.

We may share or rely on information with third parties in these cases:

• Service providers that host scripture text or audio recitations and receive requests from the App when you stream or search.
• Email and messaging apps that you choose when sending feedback or sharing verses; any information you send is handled by those apps and providers.
• Platform providers such as Apple or Google, who may receive diagnostic or crash information at the OS level.
• Legal requirements if we are required to disclose information in response to a valid legal request, such as to comply with applicable law, regulations, or court orders.

6. Data Retention and Control

Because QuranR stores most data locally, you typically control how long it is kept:

• You can delete bookmarks, notes, and reading plans from within the App.
• You can clear cached data using the App’s “Clear Cache” or similar options.
• You can turn notifications on or off in Settings.
• You can remove all local data by uninstalling the App from your device.

7. Children’s Privacy

QuranR is intended for general audiences and may be used by families and young people. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

8. International Use

QuranR may be used in many countries. By using the App, you understand that information may be processed in the country where you live and in other locations where the services we rely on operate. We take reasonable steps to protect information regardless of where it is processed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable laws. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
